Vessel inspection by an OCIMF-accredited OVID inspector

Michael Leupen is accredited by the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) to inspect offshore vessels for OVID, its Offshore Vessel Inspection Database. Charterers use these reports to check a vessel before it goes to work for them.

  • Earned at sea

OCIMF accredits only officers who hold or have held a master's or chief engineer's licence and have served in senior rank, and only when an OCIMF member nominates them. A course and a written exam follow.

  • Kept current

At least four OVID inspections a year, refresher training in every three-year cycle and reports that meet OCIMF's standard. Without them, the accreditation lapses.

  • Independent by rule

We work with vessel owners and operators, never for them: our clients are energy companies and their contractors. OCIMF also requires a signed ethics declaration every year.

Requirements: OVID inspector accreditation at ocimf.org
